Senior Trinity Rucker was the first Christian school recipient of the Martin Luther King Leadership Scholarship. Trinity was recognized due to her academic achievements, leadership, and community involvement. Trinity was honored at the Martin Luther King Leadership Breakfast on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Chesapeake Conference Center.
Trinity Rucker was born in Fairfax, Virginia, and will graduate from Atlantic Shores Christian School with a College Preparatory Diploma in June 2023. At ASCS, Trinity is the President of The National Honor Society. She is a member of the varsity volleyball and basketball teams. Bowling since she was six years old, Trinity continues to bowl weekly with her bowling league. In 2017, she won the Virginia Pepsi Tournament in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Committed to providing a better community environment for the elderly, Trinity has volunteered numerous hours at the William H. Plummer Plaza Community Center. Trinity has a strong connection to the center because her grandmother lives there. Learning can be difficult for even the best student in unexpected times. Trinity says she had to open herself to new styles of learning which was difficult during Covid. Change is hard but it can also be good and necessary to move forward; this was Trinity’s biggest lesson during Covid. After graduation, Trinity plans to attend college and pursue a career in the medical field to be a Physician Assistant.
Congratulations on a job well done! We’re proud of you Trinity!
We love ASCS because of the family and God-centered atmosphere. Julian fell in love with ASCS from the very start. In 2017 Julian was blessed with the opportunity to shadow the school for the day, prior to enrollment. When I picked up my then second grader he had the biggest smile on his face. He said, “Mom, I made friends and everyone treated me kindly!” From that day until today we are proud to be a part of the Atlantic Shores family. The entire faculty and staff have encompassed one of our go-to scriptures which is Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” As mom and dad, we have been blessed to be able to be a part of his education and share many cherished memories. ~Tina, Julian's Mom
The Bryants consider Shores as their primary ministry. They chose Shores for their children because it was important that Christ has a prominent role in the education of Kelly and Madeline.
