STEM Academy

The S.T.E.M. Academy at ASCS is a unique educational program designed to engage students in learning and help them develop skills necessary to be college and career ready. Elementary school is a prime time to engage students in this process as they start to build fundamental learning strategies that will serve as the foundation for their academic career.

S.T.E.M- Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is the broad umbrella for how the curriculum in this new program is organized and designed. Students will tackle many new concepts while also using the 5 C’s of the 21st-century student--critical thinking, creative thinking, collaboration, communication, and citizenship.

Our S.T.E.M Academy helps students gain knowledge through a common lens while also enabling students to make important and long-lasting connections across content areas. We will utilize Project-Based Learning, which is a method designed for students to gain important knowledge and skills by working for periods of time to investigate and respond to a complex question, problem, or challenge.
